His well-developed business instincts, impressive management abilities, determination, enterprise and vision enabled him to set up real estate activities in Canada and the US.
He is known as a real estate tycoon and a person who can identify real estate opportunities in Israel and overseas before anyone else.
In 1982 Mr. Azrieli founded the Azrieli Group and built the country's first shopping mall - the Ayalon Mall in Ramat Gan.
Throughout the 1980's he carried on building many more malls throughout Israel with his flagship real estate enterprise in Israel being the huge shopping mall and towers that bear his name - the Azrieli Shopping Mall and Azrieli Towers in Tel Aviv.
 Mr. Azrieli also acquired control of Granite Hacarmel Investment Group, which specializes in energy.
Alongside his business activities, Mr. Azrieli set up a charitable fund, which contributes to education institutions including: Tel Aviv University's School of Architecture and Carlton University, Canada. He holds an MA in Architecture (with excellence).
