Oil Refineries Ltd.
Line of Business:
adiv Petrochemical Industry Ltd. is one of Israel’s leading petrochemical companies. Using the most advanced technology and best materials available, the company manufactures and markets approximately 500,000 metric tons annually of the highest quality petrochemical products, including aromatics, aliphatic solvents and intermediates for the chemical, pharmaceutical, plastic and food industries. Market changes, together with continuing efforts to raise the plant’s production capacities have enabled the company to penetrate new markets all over the world. In 2010, Gadiv’s parent company, Oil Refineries Ltd. (Bazan) completed a merger with Carmel Olefins Ltd. All companies, including Gadiv, operate at the same site and have been cooperating with each other for many years. This process creates a unique vertically integrated refining, olefinic and aromatic business offering a large range of products which can be used in almost any existing industry.
As part of the new structure, the merged company was divided into three main sectors: The Industrial Sector, The Trading Sector and The Petrochemical Sector, consisting of Gadiv and Carmel-Olefins. Among one of its aims is to identify opportunities in form of mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships outside of Israel, which are linked to the product chain and reach a line of products with higher values and secure markets. Such opportunities can be located in South East Asia and South America.
In 2010 Gadiv reached approximately $460 million in Sales. Nearly 95% of Gadiv’s products are exported to customers in over 30 countries worldwide. The company operates through a global network of agents in Europe, North America and the Far East. Gadiv’s success in marketing its products is due to its quick and flexible response to changing market conditions and fulfilling the diverse needs of its customers. Gadiv’s marketing strategy is based on long-term relationships with existing customers and nurturing potential new clients by offering high-quality value and service. One of the main challenges is to maintain these marketing goals during the present global economy conditions and ensuring its ability to continue offering the best possible service.
Gadiv’s products are fully certified according to International Standards, together with GMP and FCC approval. Furthermore, Gadiv has registered its products according to the REACH program, which is the European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use.
Gadiv’s employees are considered to be one of the main assets of the company. Their loyalty and efforts are one of the main factors of the company’s success.
Gadiv’s management and employees are committed to constant preservation and improvement of the quality of the plant’s surroundings. They also strive to reduce the effects of the company’s products on the environment. The company believes that using the best available technologies and materials is not only the safest and most environmentally friendly, but also the most economically profitable strategy. Environmental and safety considerations are integrated into the entire lifecycle of Gadiv’s products. The latest protective technologies minimize any impact on the environment and ensure that employees are not endangered by harmful materials. Safety, inspection and training programs further guarantee a secure working environment. Furthermore, during the past few years, millions of dollars have been invested in improving and implementing new technologies which are environmentally friendly. Gadiv will continue its perseverance to the best possible ways to protect and improve the surrounding air, water and land.
Gadiv has always invested in researching and studying new technologies in order to maximize its production and take advantage of all streams available. The company recently completed an expansion product with an investment of approximately $35 million increasing the capacity of high value products, using available streams from Bazan and as with little impact on the environment. Additional potential development directions are being studied in areas of niche products.
